Where Toronto Reads First

About Toronto Daily News

Who We Are

Toronto Daily News started with a simple realization I had while waiting for a streetcar that never seemed to arrive: people want local information fast, accurate, and without the unnecessary fuss. I’m Carolyn C. Baeza, and after years of watching important updates get lost in the noise, I set out to build a space where Toronto residents could find the stories that shape their daily routines.

Our purpose is clear. We aim to deliver timely, trustworthy reporting that reflects the pace, personality, and pulse of this remarkable city.

What We Cover

Local News

Toronto moves quickly. Policies shift. Neighborhoods evolve. Decisions ripple across the city. We track the developments that influence everyday life—transit changes, community debates, city hall updates, and more. When something meaningful happens here, you won’t have to hear it secondhand.

Events

There’s always something unfolding in Toronto. Street festivals, gallery openings, food markets, tech meetups—you name it. We highlight events worth stepping out of your routine for. Once, during an assignment, I wandered into a kite festival I didn’t even know existed. I left with windswept hair and a story about a stranger who claimed their kite had “emotional support capabilities.” Toronto never disappoints.

Community Updates

We love sharing the stories behind the people who keep this city vibrant. Local entrepreneurs. Volunteers. Trailblazers. Everyday residents making extraordinary moves. As Oscar Wilde once quipped, “To live is the rarest thing in the world.” We like to feature the folks who prove him wrong.

Our Commitment

Trust anchors every article we publish. We verify sources, prioritize accuracy, and approach reporting with integrity. In a world where information moves faster than the 501 Queen during rush hour, we slow down just enough to ensure everything we share is reliable.

Meet the Team

Our small but dedicated team consists of journalists who call Toronto home. We ride the same transit lines, visit the same cafés, and overhear the same animated street-corner debates. That shared experience helps shape our coverage with authenticity and care.
